The “cool” counterpart to Summer Fest, Winter Fest presents jazz, blues, Latin and related genres in intimate venues in San Jose. This year’s lineup features celebrated jazz artists like Aaron Diehl in a solo performance, Mingus collaborator Charles McPherson, and powerful vocalist Catherine Russell. You’ll hear regional gems like Anton Schwartz with Kenny Washington, JC Smith with a long list of special guests including Fillmore Slim and Rick Estrin and Tiffany Austin, who is making waves with her new hit album Unbroken; artists bursting onto the scene like La Dame Blanche and Bells Atlas; and special projects like the premiere of our SJZ Collective’s exploration of the music of Charles Mingus. More artists may be announced.
