Winter Fest events are held in a variety of venues from the plush Mayer Theater at SCU to our own, intimate SJZ Break Room

SJZ Break Room

310 S. First Street, at San Carlos

This intimate popup venue at San Jose Jazz HQ was developed toward the end of the Pandemic as a performance space and video studio. During performances, all of the actions is projected on a 35’ X 14’ bank of windows, providing a unique, immersive experience. Unless otherwise noted in ticket information, there is a variety of seating options from sofas, cabaret and high top tables and standing room. Enter the venue on the corner of First and San Carlos Street, across from Original Joe’s restaurant. Face masks recommended but not required, and a small assortment of beverages are available for purchase.

SJZ Break Room shows are documented and/or live streamed, and video cameras occasionally cross the line of sight of every seat in the house.

Parking
Inexpensive parking is one block away at the Second & San Carlos Street Garage. Limited metered street parking near the venue is free after 6pm, but please note that several theatres and event spaces are nearby so plan accordingly to ensure your timely arrival. Mayer Theater, Santa Clara University

Santa Clara University’s spacious performance facility is on the northwest corner of the campus at Franklin at Lafayette Streets, next to the SCU Music and Dance Building. This is an assigned seating venue. Masks are strongly recommended per SCU Covid-19 Protocols. Bags may be searched.

Parking
Various parking lots and garages can be found near the venue. We suggest you park at the SCU Parking Garage on Alviso Street, off Benton (Map). If you use a rideshare app, dropoff should be at 114 Franklin Street. SCU Parking / Directions

Tabard Theatre

Located in the historic San Pedro Square of downtown San Jose, Tabard Theatre is an intimate venue located upstairs above O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub. Full bar of wine, beer, cocktails and soft drinks is available as well as small assortment of snacks. Face masks are encouraged but not required—learn more about Tabard Theatre’s COVID Protocols. The entrance is located at the back of the O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub building facing Almaden Ave. Access the theatre from San Pedro Street using the pedestrian walkway between Dr. Funk’s and Serious Dumpling. Follow the paseo to the left and when facing San Pedro Social’s back patio Tabard Theatre’s neon sign will be to the left.

Parking
The Market & San Pedro Square Parking Garage is located across the street from the theater. Enter the garage at 45 North Market Street. Parking is free for the first 90 minutes and $1 for every 15 minutes after. Validation is no longer available. Street parking is available in the area surrounding the theater. Meters and most yellow zones are free after 6pm and on Sundays.

Mama Kin

374 S. First Street, San Jose

The SoFA entertainment district’s newest venue, Mama Kin offers the perfect trifecta of food, drinks & live entertainment in the former Cafe Stritch space, a storied location for live jazz. Parking
Mama Kin is close to the Fest’s other South First Street venues. Inexpensive parking is two blocks away at the Second & San Carlos Street Garage. Unzipped Pavilion

325 S. First Street, San Jose

Lesia Khomenko's Unidentified Figures exhibition is presented in Westbank's "Unzipped Pavilion," adjacent to several Fest venues. Commissioned by Westbank, Bjarke Ingels’ critically acclaimed 2016 Serpentine Pavilion, dubbed the “unzipped wall”, is made of 1802 stacked fibre glass boxes. Completed in 2016, the pavilion welcomed a record number of visitors during its time displayed in London’s Hyde Park. Food and drink are not available at the Pavilion, but Mama Kin and several other restaurants are located nearby.
