SJZ at Rose, White & Blue Parade

Mon, Jul 4
11am showtime (Pacific)
Free Admission / Rose, White & Blue Parade

Our “Jazz Streetcar” and the SJZ Boombox Truck Stage roll out to support one of San Jose’s best loved Independence Day traditions, the Rose Garden’s Rose, White & Blue Parade.

Watch for our charming “Jazz Streetcar” holding High School All Starts director Oscar Pangilinan with the programs U19s Horns in the Rose, White & Blue Parade beginning at 9:45am in the Shasta Hanchett neighborhood of San Jose. Later, our Boombox Truck Stage hosts the u19s combo for sets at 11am and 12:15pm.

Our High School All Stars (HSAS) program is designed to help students achieve mastery of improvisation techniques while advancing their knowledge of music theory, arranging, composition, performance and jazz history. The group rehearses three times per month and performs in professional venues all over the region. In the recent past, HSAS has performed at the San Jose Jazz Summer and Winter Fests, Monterey Jazz Festival, Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, Joint Venture Silicon Valley “State of the Valley” and the “Season of Hope” Series at St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
