William Bohrer, Ryan Trujillo, and Brandon Walters are three mainstays at downtown San Jose’s weekly Five Points jazz jam and active musicians powering a number of Bay Area ensembles. Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter William Bohrer is an active member of Latin group Conjunto Trujillo, “parallel universe pop” group the Anachronistics, 7th Street Big Band, and indie trio Classic Hat. A California native, bassist Ryan Trujillo recently finished his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from SJSU, where he directed the Friday Jazz Ensemble, and currently leads Conjunto Trujillo. Brandon Walters is a rising drummer on the Bay Area music scene, and he’s currently a member of funky soul-jazz instrumental group Orange Sauce.
