Isaiah: DYKSJ in District 3

Do You Know San Jose?
Fri, Aug 26
5pm Doors/DJ; 7pm showtime (Pacific)
Free Event / Backesto Park

After picking up the guitar at age six, Isaiah Pickett began making a name for himself playing the Sutter Creek blues bar known as the Drytown Club. In 2006, at the age of 13, he released Plug Me In, his first album of original songs infused with blues, funk, Latin and pop. Since then, he’s become a favorite of SF Bay Area audiences, playing with the legendary Pete Escovedo at Liquid Lounge; SJZ’s Summer Fest; Gilroy Garlic Festival, The Cats Tavern and San Pedro Square Market.

San Jose Jazz’s series of live music events exploring the iconic and special places of San Jose returns, with four shows on consecutive Fridays starting August 26. This time out, we’re exploring the beautiful parks of Downtown San Jose’s District 3. Open spaces are always a great destination for walking, picnicking and family fun, but we’re rolling out the SJZ Boombox Truck with great free live music, DJ openers from The Changing Same, a food truck, beer garden and vendors to turn the park into a party from 5 to 8:30pm.
