For New Works Fest 2022, San Jose guitarist David Lechuga performs his Jazz Aid Fund-commissioned work "Ruinas De Hialeah" and other material with bandmates Odalys Caro, Ernesto Mazar Kindelán, Carlitos Medrano, and Josh Jones.
David is a 25-year-old guitarist from San Jose, California. He is a fixture in the Bay Area live music scene, performing in diverse genres as an in-demand bandleader, freelancer and soloist. David is a Distinguished Graduate in Jazz from Sonoma State University, where he studied with Randy Vincent, and a Masters candidate at Mills College, where he studied under Roscoe Mitchell. He recently performed at the 2022 Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, Cuba.
