It’s summer and that means the SJZ Boom Box is at St. James Park with free music programming. This is one of a series of live performances the Boom Box is hosting in the park this summer. Bring the family, pull up a chair and enjoy an evening in the park with live music curated by San Jose Jazz.
In addition to live music, San Jose Parks & Recreation will be providing games for all ages.
Bay Area vocalist and songwriter Jessica Johnson captivates audiences from the moment she walks on stage, engaging listeners with her rich, sultry voice and R&B stylings.
Johnson has had a love for music since she can remember. She began formal vocal training at a young age and went on to compete in every Bay Area competition she could find, garnering an impressive array of awards. As an adolescent, she started singing the national anthem for the San Jose Sharks, which led to her singing the anthem for every notable professional sports organization on the West Coast, including the San Francisco 49ers and the San Jose Earthquakes at their recently completed new stadiums.
Johnson has been featured at countless venues up and down the West Coast, including previous editions of the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest. She released her latest single, “Love is Real,” in 2015. Her debut album, Till it Happens to You, can be found on iTunes.
