San Jose Jazz in-school workshops and clinics bring jazz to 4,500 children each year. Our educators are professional musicians. Through our programs, the children learn music fundamentals, discover jazz through playing and listening, experiment with improvisation and advance through hands-on sessions with professional musicians.
“There is a huge need to bring the value of art to young kids at a critical age. We pick up where schools can’t expose kids to music and the arts. Music is valuable in our society. We plant seeds. But there is a lot more to do!” -Geoff Roach, Executive Director, SJJS
