John Worley and Bari Bari consists of John Worley - flugelhorn/trumpet, baritone saxophonists Aaron Lington, Fil Lorenz and Geoff Roach and is backed by John's great rhythm section including Murray Low on keys, Tom Bockhold on bass and Curt Moore on drums. This group pays homage to the hard bop east coast player Pepper Adams and the West Coast Cool School player Gerry Mulligan. These two gentlemen are probably the most influential saxophonists on the current generation of the Bari Sax players.
For this session, saxophonists Kristen Strom and Johnnie Bamont are added to perform the music of Supersax and Prez Conference. Supersax pays tribute to Charlie Parker and Prez Conference does the same for Lester Young by presenting some of their most famous solos harmonized for multiple saxophones. This is a culmination of phenomenal talent that last time brought down the Improv.
