Lost in the line-up? In the maze of stellar artists featured at the festival, here are 10 picks from the festival director, Bruce Labadie.


David Sanborn in a tribute to Ray Charles and Hank Crawford
In his long career we've seen many projects. We think this is one of the best.

James Hunter
British rockabilly blues player will be touring with Chris Isaac this summer. We caught him on an off-night.

Joe Bonamassa
Rising blues star will tear up the Blues and BBQ stage.

Bob Mintzer and Pete Yellin
Yellowjacket member Mintzer and Yellin will bring their famous talent to the San Jose Repertory Theater stage.

Gail Dobson Latin Jazz Sextet presents Three Generations of Jazz
Three generations from the Dobson family will pay tribute to the late San Jose Jazz artistic director and famous Bay Area musician, Smith Dobson.

Tony Lindsay
He spends part of the winter on Dancing with the Stars, but he spends the rest in the Bay Area. He plays twice at the festival, on the main stage Saturday and on the R and B stage on Sunday.

Djabe
They are making their way from Hungary to play at the festival. We're looking forward to making it worth while for them!

New York Police Department Big Band
Since their appearance last year they've played in Europe and around the United States, but they liked their appearance in San Jose best, and wanted to come back.

George Brooks' Summit featuring Zakir Hussain
This is a rare treat for us, having a star of Zakir's stature on our main stage. This performance will rock.

Mimi Fox
We're presented her several times, and she always is a crowd pleaser.
